A batter later, Marco Scutaro hit a double to make it 4-2. The Yankees started to come back in the 5th but were only able to score one run, Derek Jeter on a A-Rod single to make it 4-3. In the bottom of the 6th, Ryan Kalish hit a two-run double for the Red Sox to make it 6-3. This would be where the score would stand. The Yankees did try to come back highlighted by a 2-out 12-pitch walk by Derek Jeter to keep the game alive. In the 1st inning Derek Jeter hit a single which moved him into a tie with Babe Ruth on the all-time hits list with 2,873 hits. At the end of the night, the Yankees have a 5 run lead over the Red Sox with a 67-41 record and have a 0.5 lead over the Rays. Tomorrow the Yankees look to get a win against the Red Sox to the series at one. CC Sabathia will face off against John Lackey, both have 5 wins agaimst the other team in their career.
