Carolina Hurricanes center Seth Jarvis exited in the first period of Game 7 against the New York Rangers and will not return for the remainder of the game, the Hurricanes announced at the first intermission.
Jarvis, who stand 5'10, suffered the injury when he was hit hard by the Rangers' 6'3 defenseman Jacob Trouba.

After the hit, Jarvis struggled to get off the ice, resulting in a penalty on the Hurricanes for too many men. Jarvis was shown on the Carolina bench and appeared to be struggling to sit before leaving down the tunnel to the locker room.

The Rangers then scored their second power play goal of the game to take a 2-0 lead.
Jarvis was the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and made his Hurricanes debut this season. He finished his first NHL season with 17 goals and 23 assists, and added another eight points in the postseason. Jarvis recorded assists in each of the Hurricanes' last two games against the Rangers prior to Monday.
